I’m a white, cis-gendered, queer-identifying, neurodivergent female settler of British and Northern European ancestry. I’ve always been a “world bridger” of sorts - deeply interested in learning and understanding through many different lenses, and then figuring out how to translate between them. 

My journey has been shaped by deep personal healing, beginning at age 17 during a time of existential crisis when- fortuitously- I discovered the 8-limb path of yoga, which became a deeply instrumental anchor for learning to navigate the significant personal health challenges that comprised much of my early years. As my journey has unfolded, I’ve embraced Functional Medicine, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, vipassana meditation retreats, Sweat Lodge ceremonies, plant medicine ceremonies, solo travel, and embodiment practices to support my healing. These experiences also helped me reconnect with the spiritual and transpersonal dimensions of my being, inspiring and sustaining me as I worked to heal emotional, mental, and physical wounds.

In 2009, I survived a near-death experience (NDE) when I was trapped underwater during a rafting accident. This profound event illuminated the fleeting preciousness of life and deepened my resolve on how to live while I’m here.

Today, I find joy in life’s simple and profound moments—marveling at the beauty of nature I look for everyday in the clouds, trees and mountains; laughing with my fiancé Louis, singing medicine songs, and caring for this body through wholesome nutrition, movement, dance, yoga, and swimming. My body has endured its share of pain, particularly during a two-year period of disability in my late 30s from multiple traumatic head injuries and PTSD. Looking back on that time, as well as the pain and shame of my earlier years, I hold it all with compassion and gratitude for the resilience I embody, and lessons that continue to unfold.

I am deeply grateful for the countless teachers, guides, and beings—seen and unseen—who have supported me along the way. I honor this support by offering it to others. My journey has taught me that healing is about reconnecting with who and what we truly are and finding ways to live from that place with courage, compassion, and curiosity. It is my greatest privilege to support others in discovering their own capacity for healing and transformation.

My aim is to help clients expand their capacity to consciously engage with the full spectrum of their human experience - past and present - while discovering greater flexibility, choice, and meaning in how they relate to themselves and their lives, aligned with their goals and values. 

My approach integrates trauma and somatics, attachment theory, mindfulness and parts work, with an openness to the transpersonal and spiritual dimensions of healing, honoring the profound connections between mind, body, and spirit. Through a relational, non-judgmental and deeply attuned process, I assist clients in reconnecting with, and discover confidence in, their own truth and sense of themselves.

I hold a grounded, patient, and compassionate space, fostering an environment where all parts of my clients can feel deeply seen, heard, and supported as I earn their trust. Here, even the most tender or anguishing burdens can be approached with curiosity, lightness, and even playfulness. 

I hold our work as a collaborative process, embodying the role of an experienced fellow traveler rather than an authoritative guide. This stems from my trust in the innate healing intelligence within each person—this, when nurtured within optimal conditions, guides the healing. I work to create and hold those conditions, offering security, companionship, and skilled facilitation. Together, we explore the client’s multidimensional inner world, to illuminate both their reservoir of inner resources, and what is asking for healing now. This supported self-discovery process teaches clients skills to continue with confidence on their journey in healing and life beyond our sessions.

The sacred responsibility of this work calls me to continually deepen my own healing and learning, bringing the fruits of my personal and professional journey into service. The modalities I draw from reflect my many years of experimentation and integration with what has served me, bringing together ancient wisdom with modern scientific evidence-based practices.

I am deeply committed to practicing in a way that upholds anti-oppression, social justice, cultural safety, and trauma-informed care. I strive to approach my work with humility and awareness of the privileges I hold, recognizing the importance of continual learning and growth to better support the diverse individuals and communities I serve.

Devon’s journey as a clinician began in rural British Columbia, where she practiced Family Medicine from 2009 to 2016, providing compassionate, whole-person care to underserved communities. 

In 2011, she joined Connect Health Centre for Integrative Medicine in Vancouver, expanding her expertise into Functional Medicine, earning certification in 2013, while continuing locum work in rural BC. In 2014 she trained with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, preparing to serve as a Research Therapist for clinical trials investigating MDMA assisted therapy for PTSD.

Between 2016 and 2018, Devon worked at RISE BC Wellness in Nelson, providing chronic pain consultations and procedures, and leading many cycles of the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) group program. It was during this time she also launched her private psychotherapy practice, having completed a 2 year training and practicum for her Registered Therapeutic Counsellor designation, integrating Relational Somatic Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care.

From 2013 to 2018, Devon collaborated to co-facilitate ten multi-day plant medicine retreats, focusing on somatic trauma-informed preparation and integration group work. Since 2019, she has also co-presented the annual Whole Human Health retreat at Hollyhock Leadership Institute with Functional Medicine colleague, Dr. Lawrence Cheng. Together, they weave their holistic skills and experience into this transformative container of deep healing on the beautiful shores of Cortes Island, BC.

After a series of severe injuries in 2018, Devon’s personal healing journey included attending training in ketamine assisted therapy and kundalini yoga. Her injuries and recovery deepened her understanding of trauma and resilience. She returned to practice in 2020, joining ChangePain Clinic in Vancouver, focusing in chronic pain management through MyoActivation treatments and trauma-focused mindfulness group programs. 

From 2020 to 2023, as Medical and Therapeutic Services Director at Numinus Wellness, Devon developed protocols for ketamine-assisted therapy, co-created therapist training programs, and provided psychedelic-assisted therapy under Health Canada’s Special Access Program. She also served as a co-investigator and therapist for a MAPS-sponsored MDMA-assisted therapy trial for PTSD, completing the supervision component of her MAPS certification in 2022.

Now, as the Co-founder and Medical Director of the Centre for Medicine Assisted Therapy, Devon integrates her extensive clinical experience in Medicine Assisted Therapies, chronic pain management, Relational Somatic Therapy, Functional Medicine, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and group facilitation. Her practice is rooted in compassion and deep trust in the healing potential within the clients she serves.
