Therapist Apprenticeship
Advanced Mentorship and Experiential Training in CMAT’s Integrative Somatic Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (ISPAT) Model.
OUR APPROACH
Move beyond foundational training in Medicine Assisted Therapy (MAT) and refine your clinical presence, discernment, and skill through an advanced, apprenticeship-style mentorship with Dr. Devon Christie, Medical Director of the Centre for Medicine Assisted Therapy (CMAT).
This advanced professional training is designed for Canadian-licensed therapists and prescribers who have completed a recognized foundational training in Psychedelic or Medicine Assisted Therapy and are seeking hands-on, experiential learning within a highly supervised, relational, and somatically informed framework.
The program offers a rare opportunity to learn inside an active Canadian MAT clinic, with mentorship that spans:
Preparation, medicine sessions, and integration
Somatic and relational attunement
Ethical complexity and therapist self-regulation
The real-world clinical, professional, and systems considerations of providing MAT in Canada
At the core of the apprenticeship is a co-therapy experiential learning model, in which two trainees work closely together under direct supervision across the arc of preparation, medicine, and integration sessions. Trainees rotate between roles to support deep learning about therapeutic presence, pacing, boundaries, and the lived experience of medicine-assisted work. Experiential learning sessions utilize ketamine solely for training and educational purposes, within a structured and supervised setting.
This program emphasizes professional development, experiential learning, and reflective practice. It is not therapy, treatment, or a substitute for personal psychotherapy.
